Verb

            Verb  คำกริยา  หมายถึงคำที่บอกถึงการกระทำหรืออาการแสดงของ คน สัตว์

            ชนิดของคำกริยา  มีการแบ่งไว้หลายวิธีแล้วแต่จะคำนึงอะไรเป็นหลัก เช่น

                1. แ่บ่้่งตามหน้าที่โดยยึดกรรม ( Object ) เป็นหลัก   มี   2   ชนิด  ได้แก่

                      1. Intransitive  Verb ( vi)  หมายถึงคำกริยาที่มีความหมายสมบูรณ์ในตัวเอง ไม่ต้องมีกรรมมารับ เช่น  stand ,sit ,walk ,sleep ....ดังประโยคตัวอย่าง
                            
                                 An old man walks in the garden.

                                A cat sleeps under the table.

                   2. Transitive Verb ( vt) หมายถึง คำกริยาที่ต้องมีกรรมมารับข้างท้าย มิฉะนั้นจะทำให้ความหมายของประโยคนั้นไม่สมบูรณ์ เช่น read,write,drink....เช่น
                            
                                The man often drinks a cup of coffee at night.

                                Jack always writes the letter to his son. 

  Execise 1.  Write vi if it is intransitive verb and write vt if it is transitive verb.

                    ______   1:  The sun rises in the East.

                    ______   2:  The big cat chases the little mouse.
    
                    ______   3:   He writes a letter to his friend.

                    ______   4:  The tiger walks quietly.
  
                    ______   5:  The rabbit  hops quickly.

                    ______  6:   She takes the bus to her house.

                    ______  7:   An elephant run slowly.

                    ______  8:   George wakes up early every morning.

                    ______  9:   A little girl laughs happily.

                    ______10:   The moon shines brightly tonight.
