จะสังเกตเห็นว่าทุกวันนี้ วัฒนธรรมการไหว้ของไทย จะถูกมองข้าม หรือ ไม่เห็นความสำคัญ
นักเรียนไทยส่วนใหญ่ หรือ คนไทยส่วนใหญ่ ยังคงปฏิบัติการไหว้ อยู่อีกหรือไม่
พวกเราเคยไหว้ หรือ รับไหว้ จากคนไทยด้วยกัน หรือเห็นคนไทยและคนต่างชาติไหว้กันและกันหรือไม่
และเรายังรู้จักความหมายและขั้นตอนการไหว้ที่ถูกต้องหรือไม่
เนื้อหาเรื่องนี้เหมาะสำหรับนักเรียนในระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 ช่วงชั้นที่ 3
ผลการเรียนรู้
1.นักเรียนสามารถบอกความหมายของการไหว้เป็นภาษาอังกฤษได้
2.นักเรียนสามารถบอกความหมายของการไหว้ ในรูปแบบต่างๆ ได้อย่างถูกต้อง
3.นักเรียนสามารถไหว้ได้อย่างถูกต้องและเหมาะสม
What is wai?
Wai is a form of Thai culture which represents various aspects of Thai honorific system.
For example, wai shows Thai politeness, respect, honor, and friendship.
Thais wai when greeting or leaving. Along with a wai, Thais usually say "sawasdee," which means "hello" in English.
The wai tradition has been succeeded to the present generation since Sukhotai Period, approximately A.D. 1238).
Wai can also be used in articulating apology or gratitude.
For these purposes, a person who wais usually says, "khor-thod" or "khob-khun," respectively.

Why You Need to wai and How ?
Reasons for giving a wai There are 4 main reasons to wai, although you do not always have to wai:
1.Greeting
2.Showing respect
3.Making an apology
4.Thanking someone
How to wai
The different types differ mainly by the hand height:
1.Wai pra - fingertips at eyebrowse height
2.Wai poo yai - fingertips at nose height
3.Rab wai - hands chest height
You should keep your elbows tucked in and fingertips level with each other.
