Until recently however, progress was fairly slow. Photographs were not very attractive because they were black and white rather than color. Furthermore, taking a good quality picture required a good knowledge of light. Even when color became available, there was often disappointment when the prints came back, which did nothing to encourage the photographer. With so many technological advances, today’s cameras are much more sophisticated. Photographers are gaining valuable experience because they can use their hi-tech digital cameras to take hundreds of pictures and later made a decision about which photographs to print and which to erase.
