Mustang
The Ford Mustang has been recognized since its launch as one of the most desirable cars in the world. Even today, nearly forty years after its launch, vintage models of the Mustang are sold for high prices to fans who just can’t get enough of their favourite car, but what makes it so special ?
In early 1960s, the car market was dominated by two companies : Ford and Chevrolet. Although Ford had dominated the market in the fifties, Chevrolet’s introduction of the Corvair Monza, a sporty, compact car, meant that Ford had to come up with an answer. The answer was the Ford Mustang.
The Ford Mustang was designed to look sporty, but also to be affordable for most people. When it was launched, Ford had paid a lot of money so that Mustang advertisements were shown on all three television channels, and the response was huge. People rushed to their local Ford dealers to place their orders. One thing that made the Mustang different was the way that people could choose from a range of accessories to personalize their car, so even though thousands of Mustangs were sold, many of them were different.
Unfortunately , the Mustang’s popularity was suffered in the 1970s due to the rise in oil prices and the rising popularity of smaller, faster cars. However, it has a loyal band of followers who still believed that the Mustang is the greatest car ever built. Thousands of websites that range from pure information to insane lover were created ! Maybe as a result of this, Ford decided to design a new version of the Mustang that would launch soon, although it’s doubtful that it would have the same success as the 1960s version.
