ชนเผ่ามีตองเหลือง เป็นชาวเขาเผ่าหนึ่ง ในพื้นที่ อ.เวียงสา จ.น่าน

คงได้ยินกันมาบ้างใช่มั้ยครับ กับข่าว หรือ สารคดี เกี่ยวกับชนกลุ่มน้อยบนพื้นที่สูงใน อำเภอเวียงสา จังหวัดน่าน
กลุ่มชนที่ว่านี้ ได้แก่ ชนเผ่าผีตองเหลือง ซึ่งมีวัฒนธรรมการดำรงชีวิตเป็นของตัวเอง ปัจจุบันนี้ ทางราชการได้กำหนดให้เป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวของจังหวัดไปเรียบร้อยแล้ว และผู้จัดทำเห็นว่า มีประโยชน์ต่อผู้เรียนจึงนำมาจัดทำเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ โดยได้ข้อมูลมาจากหนังสือ หลักสูตรท้องถิ่น กลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้ภาษาต่างประเทศ โรงเรียนสา อ.เวียงสา จ.น่าน

The Mlabri Hilltribe is the last hill tribe left in the north of Thailand.
They are shy jungle hunter-gatherers, who wear only loin-clothes
and leave their dead on the tree-top for the birds.
Thai people call them “Spirits of the Yellow leaves,”
because they live in banana-leaf shelters until the leaves turn yellow (2 weeks)
and they vanish into the jungle like spirits, when anyone comes to make contact
Of the Mlabri who migrated from Muang Chaiburi of Lao P.D.R. 100 years ago,
only about currently 200 survive in Nan,
and recently the government has tried to “settle” some of them in Hmong-style villages.

Even though they seem primitive, the Mlabri are light-years ahead of modern science in
terms of their astounding knowledge of jungle plants and herbal cures.
To preserve this hill tribe, Amphur Wiang Sa, in cooperation with the Hill Tribe Development Village,
built a village for them at Moo 6, Ban Huay Yuak, Tambon Mae Khaning.
People can learn the Mlabri’s ways of living here.
The village is worth visiting.
