To fight against hunger and poverty, the Buddha gave a set of teachings, which become a guideline for Buddhist economics. Following, this is the Buddha's teachings on economic issues. His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand speaks about
self-sufficiency economy to the entire nation in December of 1997. His Majesty the King gives the meaning of the word "self-sufficiency" by saying that it means having enough to live on and to live for. His Majesty explained his concept of self-sufficiency with the meaning of the word "self-sufficiency" in English. Self-sufficiency, in English means that we have enough for our own use. In Thailand, it means "we can stand on our own two legs." The people will be happy if manycountries know this importance.Self-sufficiency economy is supported by His Majesty. This is based on Buddhist principles
of self-reliance, self-satisfaction, moderation and the middle path . These are the principles of Buddhist economics. Greed, they will cause less trouble to other people.
